LISD Announces Lisa Burleson as Principal of Ethridge Elementary

Lewisville ISD announced this evening the appointment of Lisa Burleson as the new principal of Ethridge Elementary School. Burleson currently serves as assistant principal at Downing Middle School and brings nearly two decades of educational experience — the majority of it within Lewisville ISD — to her new role.

"I am truly honored to join the Ethridge Elementary community," said Burleson. "I look forward to partnering with an incredible staff and supportive families to build on the strong foundation already in place and to ensure every student feels known, valued, and inspired to reach their full potential."

Burleson began her career in education in 2008 as a middle school teacher in Garland ISD, where she also served as department chair, AVID coordinator, and curriculum writer. She joined LISD in 2014 as a 5th grade teacher at Castle Hills Elementary before moving into an instructional coaching role as a Learning Facilitator in the LISD Central Zone. In 2017, she transitioned into campus administration at Lewisville Elementary, where she served as assistant principal and Dean of Instruction. She later served as assistant principal at Memorial Elementary from 2021 to 2024, helping to build systems and culture in the school's early years, before joining Downing Middle School in 2024.

"Lisa Burleson is a dedicated, relationship-driven leader who knows and loves this district," said LISD Superintendent Dr. Lori Rapp. "Her breadth of experience across grade levels and campuses, combined with her passion for students and her commitment to instructional excellence, makes her a wonderful fit for the Ethridge community."

Burleson holds a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership, both from the University of North Texas. Burleson is an LISD parent with two sons in elementary school.
