LISD Announces Clarence Scott as Principal of Southridge Elementary

Lewisville ISD announced this evening the appointment of Clarence Scott as the new principal of Southridge Elementary School. Scott most recently served as campus principal of Parkview Elementary and Sunset Valley Elementary, as well as District Lead Principal in Keller ISD, and brings 11 years of educational leadership experience to his new role. His appointment follows the retirement of Wyvona Ulman, who served as principal of Southridge Elementary for nine years.

"I am truly honored to join the Southridge Elementary community," said Scott. "I look forward to partnering with an exceptional staff, engaged families, and remarkable students to continue building on the strong foundation that has been established here. Together, I know we will accomplish great things."

Scott began his career in education as a classroom teacher before transitioning into campus administration. He served as assistant principal in HEB ISD at Spring Garden Elementary and Shady Brook Elementary from 2015 to 2020, during which time his campuses earned multiple Texas Education Agency Top 25% distinctions in Comparative Academic Growth and Closing the Gaps. He joined Keller ISD in 2020 as assistant principal at Liberty Elementary before being named campus principal in 2021. As principal, he improved student achievement at Sunset Valley Elementary and led Parkview Elementary to Top 25% designations in Comparative Academic Growth and Comparative Closing the Gaps in the 2023-2024 school year.

"We are thrilled to welcome Clarence Scott to the Southridge community," said LISD Superintendent Dr. Lori Rapp. "His proven ability to elevate student achievement, build high-performing campus cultures, and strengthen relationships with students, staff, and families makes him an outstanding fit for Southridge. I am confident he will continue the excellent work at this campus."

Scott holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University. He is the recipient of the TEPSAN of the Year award from the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association and has been recognized as both a Campus Teacher of the Year and District Elementary Teacher of the Year during his career.
